UX Challenge

How might we design an AI-driven real estate platform that enhances user participation in residential communities, makes finding the right property easier, and builds trust among users? How might we design an AI-driven real estate platform that enhances user participation in residential communities, makes finding the right property easier, and builds trust among users?

Brief:

TCG Group set out to create an innovative platform designed to cater to all participants in the real estate market from everyone involved. This ambitious initiative aimed to develop an AI-driven platform that would:

  • Streamline operations for all stakeholders.

  • Offer an intuitive and engaging user experience.

  • Cater to the specific needs of varied user groups, including

property owners, buyers, renters, and service providers.

Process

In the current market where there are several apps in this domain with cluttered UI and poor discoverability, we used a user-centric process to make this app beyond just gate management increase user engagement in residential community and leverage AI in finding the right property.

Our solution stood on the following design pillars

Premiumness:

The target audience for this project is the top 1% of affluent individuals residing in upscale, gated urban communities. The colour palette and visual styling are designed with optimal minimalism to ensure a consistent, high-end aesthetic.

Discoverability:

In the current market, apps like MyGate and NoBroker are primarily used for gate management, despite offering a range of other features. To address this issue of discoverability, we introduced the Lotus. This innovative feature showcases the app's diverse offerings in a clear and engaging manner, promoting easy discovery and user interaction. It departs from traditional hierarchical navigation systems, providing a novel and intuitive experience.

Enhanced gate management:

While conventional gate management systems rely on loud notifications and basic accept/decline options, we aimed to offer more. Our gate management now provides rewards for every action you take. We've replaced the traditional interfaces with a more interactive and engaging UI, minimizing user effort while maximizing enjoyment.

A complete system:

We also developed the backend system, transforming an inherently offline process into a digital platform to seamlessly integrate with the frontend. Although this aspect primarily addresses a different user perspective, my role was focused on the customer-facing app.

Human centred community living:

The goal was to enhance offline user interactions by creating a platform where users can form their own communities based on their social energy. Recognising that social energy fluctuates, we introduced the Vibe Dial, allowing users to tailor their experience by selecting their current personality type. This feature enhances user interaction, making it fun, diverse, and highly personalised, enabling expert curation of each user's preferred experience. In addition to fostering community, this module provides a platform for home entrepreneurs to grow their businesses.

My Learning

Balancing Innovation with User Needs: I learned the importance of striking a balance between introducing innovative features and ensuring they meet the actual needs of users. While pushing boundaries is essential, it’s equally crucial to keep the user experience intuitive and accessible.

Effective Stakeholder Communication: I gained valuable experience in handling client interactions and one-on-one calls, learning that clear and continuous communication with stakeholders is key to aligning the design process with business goals and ensuring the success of the project.

The project resulted in two patents under process, showcasing innovations that enhance user engagement and elevate user centric designs.

In this project, I led the UX design process, starting with dipstick research to identify user needs and pain points. I collaborated closely with stakeholders, managing client interactions and engaging in one-on-one calls to ensure alignment with the project vision. The focus was on creating innovative, intuitive designs that enhanced user engagement and streamlined property searches. By leveraging AI-driven features, aimed to deliver a highly discoverable and user-friendly platform that addressed the diverse needs of the real estate market.
